5. Golden Tate
Here is a possible quick fix to the Houston Texans losing Will Fuller for the rest of the season. The Detroit Lions have Golden Tate on their roster and most likely aren’t winning the NFC North this season with the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings all in contention as well.
Tate is a free agent after this season, so maybe the price tag wouldn’t be too steep for the veteran wide receiver. Tate would be a rent-a-player for the rest of this season, and then it would be wait and see what happens with the nine-year player.
This season, Tate has 37 receptions for 467 yards and three touchdowns in six games played. Tate has been targeted 57 times by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford this season.
Having Tate opposite of DeAndre Hopkins would be nice to have too, then when healthy, Keke Coutee could play slot receiver and the Texans’ offense would still look pretty good. Since this is a desperate type of situation for the Texans with them leading the AFC South, giving up a third-round pick might be a move that could be made for a player with the experience and ability of Tate to keep this offense moving in the right direction.
