With seven games in the books, it has been a bit of a roller coaster with three straight losses followed by four straight wins, leaving the Texans currently in first place in the AFC South following a win Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In defeating the Jaguars by a 20-7 score in Week 7, the Texans have gained momentum in the AFC and on short rest will be back on the field on Thursday Night Football to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.

Before Week 8 arrives, there is a lot to focus on from this past Sunday as it was evident to everyone the defense is getting stronger and for the second straight week forced the opponent to bench their quarterback for their reserve option. The Jaguars benched Blake Bortles after the first half in favor of Cody Kessler, and that didn’t work out for the Jaguars either.

The Texans received very good play from the defensive pass rush with a total of four sacks on the day, along with just playing pressure-filled defense that helped the offense in their pursuit of scoring points with the Texans scoring two touchdowns and two field goals.

Houston did what was needed and did it well for the most part in Week 7, as here is the good, the bad and more from the win over Jacksonville, a win that moved the Texans to 4-3 overall and into sole possession in first place.
