Houston Texans: Early favorites over Giants for Week 3

Both the Houston Texans and the New York Giants enter this Sunday winless though the first two games of the season. Who have the betting experts chosen as the early favorite for this Week 3 game.

Neither the Houston Texans or the New York Giants have impressed much over the first two games of the regular season with both teams under performing and both teams having 0-2 overall records for their early season performances.

This game does feature two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback in Eli Manning who is the most hot-or-cold quarterback in the NFL today, along with the Giants having players like wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Saquon Barkley for their version of the Big 3 in New York. The same could be said for the Texans as their offense has a Big 3 with quarterback Deshaun Watson, running back Lamar Miller and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Being early in the week, according to OddsShark.com the Texans are the favorites in this game, but the odds for the game differ depending on which sports book you view.

All but one have the Texans as -6 favorites, and one sports book has them at -7 of those listed on OddsShark.com. That is a big number for a Texans team who managed to score no more than 20 points in either of their games thus far this season. The Giants have allowed 20 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1 and in Week 2 they again allowed 20 points to Cowboys this past Sunday night.

The Giants are 2-4 against the spread in their past six games, while the Texans are 0-5 against the spread in their past five games. In their past six home games the Texans are 2-4 against the spread.

A lot can happen from now until kickoff, but with the Texans being the favorites (as they were last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans) that isn’t a guarantee for the team to win their first game of the season, but there is hope and right now the Texans
