Houston Texans: Good, bad and ugly in loss to Titans
The Good: Will Fuller
Will Fuller was finally able to overcome his hamstring injury and play in the regular season, making his 2018 debut with the Houston Texans and showing why he was a first-round pick just a few short years ago.
Fuller finished with eight receptions for 113 yards and one touchdown Sunday. His best reception was 39 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. What Fuller brought to the Texans on Sunday, besides leading the team in receiving yards and receptions, was he gave the Texans another viable weapon to help DeAndre Hopkins, who gains all of the top coverage.
Though this wasn’t a career-best yardage game for Fuller — that came in 2017 against the Seattle Seahawks at 125 yards and two touchdowns — it was his career-best in receptions with the previous mark being seven against the Titans last season, a game when he caught seven passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.
There is more to come from Fuller, and on Sunday, this was just the start of what can be a great career if he can just stay on the field. Just imagine if Fuller is able to stay on the field and play opposite of Hopkins for the remainder of the season.
