1. Deshaun Watson

Granted all of us will be watching Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson this Sunday, but the reason he is a must-watch player this weekend is to see how he overcomes not playing at a top level in the season opener against the New England Patriots.

Watson possesses the talent to be a Top 10 quarterback each and every week in the NFL, even if it is just his second season in the league. Finishing last weekend 17-of-34 for 176 yards with one touchdown and one interception just isn’t going to cut it if the Texans want to win games on a consistent basis.

This weekend Watson will be facing defensive backs Logan Ryan, Kenny Vaccaro, Kevin Byard and Malcom Butler so it won’t be an easy task, plus the Titans aren’t that bad with their front seven. Watson will have to be playing at a very good level to have success this weekend.

Watson played once against the Titans last season and as a rookie he was 25-of-34 for 283 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

If that performance repeats itself on Sunday, the Texans will gain their first win of the season for sure. Compared to last weekend, Watson needs to play with more energy and at a higher level, and that makes Watson the must-watch player for the Texans in Week 2.
