1. Cornerback depth

Looking at the defense, the Texans are one injury from catastrophe at cornerback. The Texans are very thin at that position, there isn’t a lot of capable cover corners outside Jonathan Joseph, Aaron Colvin and Kevin Johnson on the roster this season.

With Johnson there is also the fact he had a concussion this preseason. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle wrote the following on Johnson:

"“Johnson went to a Houston hospital for further examination after landing on his head and being diagnosed with a concussion.”"

Johnson Bademosi had an interception against the 49ers, but he always giving too many yards in coverage. Bademosi was brought in more for his special team prowess rather than his ability to contribute as a cover corner. The rest of the depth has been unable to be productive in the preseason.

The Texans have talent on the roster, but if an injury occurs their options at varying spots on the roster could leave them with some issues during the regular season, which could lead to a repeat of how last season went, which left them in fourth place in the AFC South.
