The Houston Texans may not have been able to pull off a win against the Baltimore Ravens, but a lot of that is due to offensive mistakes, not a lack of talent.

As the Houston Texans turn the page on a disappointing loss to the Baltimore Ravens and look forward to this Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report has graded every NFL team according to how they played in week 12.

Davenport gave the Texans a D grade for their performance against the Ravens.

Here’s a portion of what Davenport wrote:

"The Texans put up a pretty good fight in Baltimore, but the game likely wouldn’t have been so close if the Ravens had anything that resembled an NFL offense. At 4-7, any fading playoff hopes the Texans may have had are just about toast. That’s fitting—because the Texans were toast the moment Watson crumpled to the ground in practice a few weeks ago."

I think a grade of a D is unfair for the Texans, given the fact that if Deshaun Watson was still their quarterback, they would be in the playoff hunt. I would have given them a C, since they could have easily have come away with a win.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been playing his tail off and the Texans’ defense is good enough to help them win games.  The problem is the offense keeps putting the team in holes with quarterback Tom Savage’s turnovers.

The way the Texans’ offense is constructed right now, they’re built to play with a mobile quarterback due to how bad their offensive line is. Unfortunately, Savage isn’t mobile like Watson.

With the Texans’ playoffs just about finished, they will need to use the final five games of the season to evaluate the talent on their football team.
