The Houston Texans have moved back up in the NFL power rankings after snapping their losing streak this past Sunday.

To no one’s surprise at all, the Houston Texans have been slipping over the past few weeks in FanSided’s weekly NFL power rankings after losing three straight games.

With a win over the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday, the Texans have moved up from 23rd to 18th on Dan Parzych’s NFL Spin Zone power rankings heading into week 12.

Here’s a portion of what Parzych wrote:

"As exciting as it was to see Savage complete 22 of 32 passes for 230 yards with two scores and an interception, the most important factor is Houston ended up winning the game against Arizona 31-21. For a team that was desperate for a win after losing each of their previous three games, it was good to see the Texans come through for once since the season kind of took a turn for the worse when Watson went down. With that being said, it seems highly unlikely that Houston will have any chance of winning the division since they currently trail the Jacksonville Jaguars by three games heading into next weekend’s contest against the Baltimore Ravens. And when seeing how impressive the Ravens’ defense looked against the Green Bay Packers, Savage better be ready."

I agree with Parzych, winning the AFC South is certainly out of the question right now with the Texans’ offense being such a liability.

The Ravens did look very good on defense against the Packers last week. They currently bolster the sixth overall ranked defense in the league. They’re ranked second against the pass, but are 26th against the run.

There is no doubt that Tom Savage will have his hands full, but that’s why Texans’ head coach Bill O’Brien will have to rely on his ground game this week. It’s also why acquiring running back Andre Ellington is huge for Houston after losing D’Onta Foreman to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

A big reason the Texans were able to defeat the Arizona Cardinals this past was due to how well both Miller and Foreman ran the football. Especially Foreman, who broke off some big runs.
