Rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson continues to blow away the competition during his first NFL season with the Houston Texans.

Houston Texans’ rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson didn’t back down at all during Sunday’s 41-38 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

One player that’s impressed with Watson, is Seahawks’ star cornerback Richard Sherman. He said that the rookie is the best quarterback they’ve ever faced off against.

From Bleacher Report:

"“‘You played the best game any quarterback has ever played against us, and we’ve played all the legends,'” Sherman said he told Watson after the contest in a text message to Peter King of MMQB.com. “‘I respect how you hung in there and kept battling and battling.'”“My God, Houston’s so lucky,” Sherman added. “By next year he’s going to be a top-five quarterback in this league, and that includes the two big dogs [Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers]. He makes you dig to the deepest part of your competitive juices to beat him.”"

That’s quite a compliment from Sherman, who has gone up against some great quarterbacks during his career.

While Watson did throw three interceptions, he kept the Texans in the game right until the end. All Houston needed was a defensive stop to get the win.

Watson showed that he has the ability to forget about bad plays, because despite the interceptions he racked up 402 yards and four touchdowns through the air. He also rushed for 67 yards on eight carries.

Watson’s play enabled guys like DeAndre Hopkins (8 catches for 224 yards and one touchdowns) and Will Fuller V (5 catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns) to have huge games.

It’s amazing how Watson continues to carry Houston’s offense while elevating the play of the guys around him. He’s certainly made Fuller look really good after an up and down rookie season in 2016.

Watson has now thrown for 19 touchdowns in six and a half games. He’s on pace for over 40 passing touchdowns this season.
