Houston Texans’ week 4 keys to victory
The Houston Texans are searching for their second win of the season as they prepare for a big divisional match-up.
The Houston Texans will have another tough game this week as they get ready to face off against the Tennessee Titans.
I’ve come up with three keys for them to get a win this Sunday.
Shut down DeMarco Murray/Derrick Harvey
The Texans have to make the Titans one dimensional and that starts with shutting down running backs DeMarco Murray and Derrick Harvey.
Tennessee is a team that wants to run the football, since that’s their identity as an offense.
The Texans need to make quarterback Marcus Mariota beat them through the air so they can unleash their relentless pass rush.
Establish a running game
Let’s be honest, the only success the Texans have had this season when it comes to running the football is with quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Both Lamar Miller (3.3 yards per carry) and D’Onta Foreman (3.3 yards per carry) haven’t done enough to scare opposing defenses.
If the Texans can establish a running game, it will take more pressure off of Watson and open up the passing game.

Protect Deshaun Watson
The Texans’s offensive line looked pretty sold against the New England Patriots in week four. With Greg Mancz out, they will need to come together as a group and pick up the slack.
The Texans will need both Jeff Allen and Xavier Su’a-Filo to do their jobs.
The nice thing about Watson is that he can run around to avoid the rush, but protecting him will help their passing game against a vulnerable Titans’ pass defense that ranks 30th in the NFL.
