Report: Deshaun Watson to start against Bengals
The Houston Texans are rolling to dice with Deshaun Watson as their starter.
On Tuesday, Houston Texans’ head coach Bill O’Brien wouldn’t say whether or not Tom Savage or Deshaun Watson will start on Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
There was a report on Tuesday that as long as Watson fully practiced after suffering an ankle injury on Sunday, he would get the start this week.
It sounds like Watson is good to go, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
Ian Rapoport and James Palmer of NFL Media are reporting that Watson will get the start this week against the Bengals.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis told the media on Tuesday that they were planning on facing Watson.
So it looks like Cincinnati will be well prepared for Watson. But then again there isn’t much NFL film on him, which is an advantage for the Texans.
While Watson gives Houston a better chance to win because of how well he moves around to avoid the rush, the Texans are taking a gamble by allowing him to start. There is the danger of damaging him mentally behind a bad offensive line the way they did with David Carr several years ago.
Then again if Savage plays another game, he would likely end up injured since the Texans’ offensive line is completely inept and he has had a hard time staying healthy in the past.
Comment below and tell us whether or not you think Watson is the right choice to start and whether he will play well on Thursday.
