Houston Texans’ star J.J. Watt has suffered an injury in Sunday’s season-opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Houston Texans and their fans were fired up that star defensive lineman J.J. Watt is back after missing most of last season with a back injury.

Unfortunately Watt suffered a hand injury during Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that appears to be a dislocated finger.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle posted the news on Twitter.

I’m sure Watt’s finger will get popped back into place and the Texans will tape him up in order to get back into the game.

There is a report that Watt is considered probable to return, so it’s clearly just a minor injury. This is great news for the Texans since they are down 19-0 at halftime.

One problem for the Texans is that Watt is not the only player dealing with an injury. Houston linebacker Brian Cushing is now being checked out for a possible concussion.

You have to wonder if rookie linebacker Zach Cunningham will get a chance with Cushing now on the sideline. It will be interesting to see who replaces him if he can’t finish the game.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle is also reporting that tight end Ryan Griffin is also being evaluated for a concussion. It’s a good thing the Texans have some quality depth at the tight end position.
