The Houston Texans have a big rivalry game to kick off the 2017 season as they get ready for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
There are many match-ups to look out for during this coming Sunday’s game between the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars.
I’ve picked out three specific match-ups for you to keep an eye this week.
DeAndre Hopkins vs. A.J. Bouye
The Jaguars could have cornerback Jalen Ramsey match-up with DeAndre Hopkins. But why would they do that when they can have someone like A.J. Bouye who knows him really well, shadow him?
Of course with Bouye being a former Texan, this is the match-up I’m really looking forward to the most after he left Houston this past offseason for a big pay day down in Jacksonville.
Chris Clark vs. Calais Campbell
With Duane Brown still holding out for more money, Chris Clark will get the start at left tackle and he will have his hands full with a monster in defensive end Calais Campbell.
The Texans would be smart to have running back Lamar Miller help Clark with Campbell during passing plays. They might also want to line up a tight end on the left side for help as well.
J.J. Watt vs. Jaguars offensive line
J.J. Watt looked good during the preseason. It’s seems as if he’s back to his previous form after missing almost the entire season in 2016 due to a back injury.
I would expect the Texans to move Watt all over the place, so Jaguars’ quarterback Blake Bortles better give his offensive line one heck of a pre-game pep talk.
