With the Houston Texans drafting former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson this past Thursday, he gave his mom quite the birthday gift.
Watson bought his mom a brand new Jaguar since it’s her birthday this weekend.
What a way to celebrate getting drafted by the Texans as well as his mom’s birthday.
Watson really praised his mom after getting drafted.
From ESPN:
"“I owe everything to her,” Watson said after he was drafted. “Her birthday is Saturday. I’m going to spoil her for sure. It’s surreal. It’s just amazing.”"
Watson also raved about his mom at his Texans’ introductory press conference.
"“My mom, she’s my rock,” Watson said during his introductory news conference in Houston. “She’s the one that raised me. Single-parent mom of four kids and the struggles that we went through, it was tough. My whole family plays a big part of my support cast, and it’s just been awesome to have them in my life.”"
While Watson has been drafted into a great situation for the fact that the Texans’ offense has a lot of weapons for him to work as well as a strong defense to help him on the other side of the ball.

You could argue that it could be a tough first season for Watson given the fact that no one expects Tom Savage to keep the Texans’ starting job.
As of right now I’m positive that Watson will quiet the critics who don’t believe he can start right away.
As of right now, Watson is probably the best quarterback on Houston’s roster.
