A.J. Bouye’s agent is still gauging the market with numerous teams interested in his client.
It was reported on Tuesday that the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville, Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles are all interested in signing Houston Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye.
On Wednesday ESPN’s Ed Werder said the Texans are worried about the Eagles signing Bouye.
#Texans concerned about prospect of losing CB AJ Bouye to #Eagles, per source. #Texans to counter offer today

I find it interesting that the Eagles are in the mix since they don’t have a lot
#Eagles currently have $6,251,224 in salary cap space, per the NFLPA. Only 5 teams have less (KC, LAC, LAR, DAL, BAL). League avg: $34M.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle doesn’t see Philly being able to sign Bouye.

Bouye is expected to land a new contract that will pay him over $13 million. When a team like the Eagles only has $6 million in cap space, they will need to free up space by releasing or trading some of their players.

The bad news is that the 49ers, Browns, Colts, Jaguars and Titans all have plenty of money to sign Bouye.
The Texans will also ultimately have to decide whether they continue to try and re-sign Bouye or go after Tony Romo, who will be released on Thursday.
Houston only has $21 million in cap space left after re-signing both Shane Lechler and Nick Novak on Tuesday.
