This year’s crop of quarterbacks might be better than people thought. I wonder if the Houston Texans could get a steal in this year’s draft.
I have great news for Texans’ fans, some of the top quarterback prospects for this year’s NFL draft are looking great at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.
This includes Mitchell Trubisky of North Carolina, DeShaun Watson of Clemson and Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes.
Noe of course each player is throwing in shorts and a t-shirt without a pass rush, but it sounds like these guys have one part of the game down. There’s no question their arms can get the job done.
With Trubisky, Mahomes and Watson impressing at the combine, I wonder if each player will end up throwing that their pro day’s.
I have to give them credit for throwing at the combine. Most top quarterbacks avoid it because they’re throwing to receivers they’re not used to and it’s not a controlled environment like pro days. They’re usually worried it will make them look bad.

The thing about pro days being a “controlled enviorment” is that the quarterbacks script out each and every pass with their receivers so it’s almost impossible to mess up and look bad.
One problem for Houston with all three quarterbacks looking good at the combine is that it could cause their draft stock to go up which could mean they will all be off the board when the Texans are picking at 25.
