Once again the Houston Texans offense looks lethargic to start a game as they head to the half trailing 14-6 to the Denver Broncos

The Houston Texans are trailing at the half, just like they keep doing when featured on prime time football.

Once again they are also looking as flat as possible on offense. Former Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler looks like he isn’t shaken by facing his old team in terms of his composure and demeanor.

His passes tell a different story. He is just 9-of-17 passing for 46 yards in the first two quarters and is still forcing passes to DeAndre Hopkins despite being covered.

Osweiler hasn’t been the only dark cloud for Houston. Right tackle Derek Newton headed to the locker room on a cart with both legs in air casts. Also running back Lamar Miller has been seen on the sidelines having his shoulder examined by team trainers.

Houston did come out looking solid, forcing three Broncos punts in the first half thanks to three-and-outs. They were able to move the ball some thanks to their running game during this stretch and hit two field goals.

That 6-0 lead was quickly erased when Broncos running back C.J. Anderson bowled his way into the end zone. A four-yard touchdown catch by Demaryius Thomas stretched the lead to eight points.

After Houston again fell flat, they had to punt the ball away right after the two minute warning. Denver decided not to attack, and let the clock run down despite boos from fans.

Hopefully that can help Houston in the second half. The Broncos will start with the ball first in the second half.
