Houston Texans Morning Huddle–Rising in Standings
By Josh McSwain
Here are your Houston Texans stories for Saturday:
Texans move up in ultimate standings by Sarah Barshop, ESPN
"The Texans are up 11 spots from last year’s rankings, likely in part to the big offseason the team had after winning the AFC South last year. After a season of revolving quarterbacks that ended with a 30-0 blowout by the Chiefs in the wild-card game, Houston upgraded its offense in a big way, including signing quarterback Brock Osweiler to a four-year, $72 million contract."
The Texans continue to rise in these rankings, and the quality of the team on the field is reflecting that. They have won the division three times in the last five years and have four winning seasons in that time. Their players and fan relations are high, but there are other areas that they still can improve in.

Lamar Miller has Ridiculous Speed by John Harris, Houstontexans.com
"From the day Lamar Miller put ink to paper in Houston back in March, we’ve all wanted to see THAT speed out in space. You know, the speed that he flashed against the Texans in October of 2015 down in Miami. You know, that speed he used to run away from everyone on that awful October afternoon. We’ve all wanted to see it in a Texans jersey, and we finally did on Sunday night. Now, this doesn’t mean that Miller hasn’t been effective for the Texans in the first five games of the 2016 season, but he really hadn’t had much of a chance to get the rock out in space, hit the nitrous boosters and go Mach 5.On Sunday night against the Colts, he was able to do that a few times, and it sent a charge through the stadium each and every time."
Miller was able to put his moves on full display with his touchdown reception that saw him out maneuver the entire Colts defense as he made his way to the end zone. Let’s hope to see more of that speed and elusiveness that got him the money that the Texans gave him.
