The Cardinals game will showcase special teams performers staking their claims to final roster spots.

Who will fill the last defensive back roster spots?

Against the Cardinals fans should pay very close attention to the punt and kick-off coverage teams. Playing well on those teams will determine the last couple defensive back roster spots. The starters, including those with key roles in the various defensive sets, are solid. After that there is talent, but little experience. The ability to excel on the coverage teams will make the difference in close competitions.

The third preseason game tends to feature starters. The fourth game is reserved almost solely for non-starters fighting for roster spots and those seeking one last opportunity to show well on tape. The Cardinals game will help set that pecking order for game four. There is much to watch after the starters hit the sidelines.
