Offensive tackles

Yeah this one is a bit of a cop out, but considering the issues that the Texans had in pass protection against the first team defense of the 49ers both sides will be spots to watch. Kendall Lamm and Jeff Adams did not look very good last week, and will need to step it up as they compete for that third tackle spot with Andrew McDonald (pictured here with the Browns) and others, including Chris Clark.

With Duane Brown coming off an injury and Derek Newton injured in camp, the third tackle spot will be crucial this season. With Lamm and Adams not performing well, it opens the door for McDonald and Clark. McDonald got the most snaps of the four last week as he played 35 of the 69 offensive snaps, the only tackle to go over half.

Newton should return to the lineup this week, but still the battle for the third tackle job will rage on. I think Clark should win it, but considering the injury history of the two starters, the fourth and fifth guys must be ready too.
