Houston Texans: 5 players whose stock is rising after preseason Week 1
By Randy Gurzi
Here are five Houston Texans players who are seeing their stock rise following the teams first preseason game against the 49ers
Preseason football is a hard thing to judge. Sure, the Houston Texans beat the San Francisco 49ers 24-13, but the starters were less than inspiring. That doesn’t mean that nobody stepped up though.
Here we will look at five players who made a positive impression and now have their stock rising.
5. Josh Lenz, WR
Again, judging preseason football isn’t easy but wide receiver Josh Lenz had a solid outing in Week 1. Lenz finished the contest with three receptions for 52 yards. All three of those catches came on one drive in the second half and were good for first downs.

Overall three receptions for a whole game isn’t a lot to get excited about, but his 52 yards did lead the team. That’s saying something considering the caliber of players the Texans have at the position.
Although, that can also work against Lenz, the 2013 undrafted kid from Iowa State. He would have to beat out some solid players to make the team as DeAndre Hopkins, Cecil Shorts, Braxton Miller, Will Fuller, Jaelen Strong and Keith Mumphery are all currently ahead of him.
Lenz has spent time with the Bears, Seahawks, Colts and Brown before joining the Texans. He has yet to record any game action during the regular season. It will be a huge uphill climb, but Sunday was a nice day for Lenz.
