Lamar Miller, RB

Osweiler wasn’t the only big signing by Houston during the first wave of free agency. The team also acquired the best running back in free agency when they struck a deal with Lamar Miller.

Vitals
Height: 5-foot-11
Weight: 215 Pounds
Rushing yards: 2,930
Rushing TDs: 19
Receptions: 117
Receiving yards: 887
Receiving TDs: 3

Miller has four years of NFL experience, but still is just 25 years old as he joins the Texans. He also has very low mileage on his legs as the Miami Dolphins rarely used him as a featured back despite his 4.6 yard per carry career average.

Houston struggled mightily to run the ball in 2015, and Miller is expected to change that this year. He should be able to do just that and thanks to a new quarterback and a dangerous group of receivers, Miller should have plenty of room to maneuver when he does carry the ball.

Another way Miller can help is receiving out of the backfield. He is coming off his best season in that regard as Miller brought down 47 passes for 397 yards and two scores for Miami.

The Texans will probably use Miller as an every down back, unlike he saw during his first four NFL seasons. Again though, that doesn’t mean this will be the offensive MVP for the Texans.
