5. Case Keenum

Sure, maybe this one is a bit of a stretch, but the undrafted Houston Cougar did win over a lot of fans with his style of play. He filled the stat sheets up as a collegiate player in Houston and then showed some promise in his debut after leapfrogging T.J. Yates when the team needed a starter with Matt Schaub out injured.

Case Keenum went 0-8 as a starter for the Texans that season, which was his second in the NFL, but still was called a winner by many of his loyal fans.

His numbers weren’t terrible as he threw for 1,760 yards with nine touchdowns to six interceptions that season, which was pretty impressive considering the team’s struggles and the fact that he was one season removed from going undrafted.

After that year, new head coach Bill O’Brien released Keenum but then had to turn to him again later in the season after the quarterback was released by the Rams where he had been claimed after Houston cut him.

Keenum started two games for O’Brien’s Texans and the team won each of those contests. He finished the season with 435 yards and two touchdowns and interceptions each. Again, O’Brien opted against Keenum as he was shipped back to the Rams in exchange for a seventh round pick.
