The 16th overall pick last season out of Wake Forest, Kevin Johnson showed plenty of promise as a rookie and could contend for even more playing time in 2016.

The pick of Johnson was met with a lot of positive reviews by many draft gurus, and Mike Mayock of the NFL Network summed it all up rather well with his post-draft comment on Johnson.

"“Some coaches have told me that Johnson is the cleanest defensive back in this draft. He can play inside and outside, press or off coverage. All the defensive back coaches I talk to talk about his feet … so quick. The only concern is his frame and durability, but this is a really good football player.” — Mike Mayock"

Johnson proved immediately that the scouts were right about the kid who only allowed 24 pass completions his final season at Wake Forest. He quickly was inserted as the nickel corner and when Kareem Jackson was out injured the defense didn’t miss a beat with Johnson stepping up.
