As we quickly approach the start of training camp, we break down the Houston Texans roster by position, this time with the cornerbacks
With the draft in the rearview mirror and mini-camps getting under way, the 2016 NFL season feels closer than ever. For fans of the Houston Texans, there’s plenty of reason to be excited about the start of this coming season.
To help us all get in the spirit, we will begin to break down the 2016 version of your Texans, and today the cornerbacks get their turn in the spotlight.
The Texans entered 2015 with Kareem Jackson and Johnathan Joseph as the entrenched starters, but understanding that Joseph is nearing the end of the line they spent a first round pick on Kevin Johnson out of Wake Forest.

Johnson, known as a solid technician, played well but was used mainly as the nickel back when all the corners were healthy.
This season things look identical for the Texans backfield with all three players returning. The only real battle will be seeing if someone can earn their way from the bottom of the depth chart up to the fourth position.
