Here are your daily Houston Texans stories for Tuesday:

Texans Destined to Disappoint in 2016 by Kyle McKinnon, NFL Mocks

"After making splash-moves in signing quarterback Brock Osweiler away from the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, as well as game-changing running back Lamar Miller, the team quickly became the trendy pick to win it all. Now, it’s not all that ridiculous of a thought for the Texans to take home the Lombardi Trophy come February.Bill O’Brien’s squad is one of championship-caliber talent, leadership, and depth. Houston sported a great defense in 2015 – allowing the third fewest total yards – led by 3x-Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt.Besides star wideout DeAndre Hopkins, offensive consistency was hard to come by. Much of that inconsistency stemmed from shoddy quarterback play, though, making it easy to see where the desperation for Osweiler’s services came from."

Trendy pick to win it all? Not sure where that came from. While the Texans could be a better team next season, unless Osweiler elevates his game from the game manager status it was last year in Denver, I imagine Houston will have another tense competition for the division title with the Colts and Jaguars.

Draft Sleepers at Wide Receiver by John Harris, Houstontexans.com

"With that backdrop, here are a few intriguing players outside the Harris 100 at the wide receiver position.Tajae Sharpe, UMassSharpe might have tiny hands but they haven’t kept him from catching everything in his area code.Jakeem Grant, Texas TechGrant is pocket dynamite and ran away from every single LSU defender on the field in the 2015 AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl."

Grant is the next in a long line of Texas Tech receivers that have been productive college players, but not many have seen NFL success. Michael Crabtree is one of the few exceptions.

Texans Should Draft Laquon Treadwell by Brandon Katz, HNGN

"General manager Rick Smith and head coach Bill O’Brien need to add additional oomph to this offense, especially with last year’s No. 2 WR Nate Washington now with New England. Treadwell can be that guy. He’s a big, strong receiver whose physical attributes (6-foot-2, 221 pounds) outweigh his overblown speed concerns. In fact, he’s quite similar to Hopkins in that regard. Treadwell may not be a blazer, but he consistently beats zone defenses and can get open downfield with solid route running and smart usage of his body. Last year, he caught 82 passes for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns."

Well, there are cases to be made for about four different positions with the first round pick in the draft. There is some good depth at receiver in the draft, so maybe the Texans will go another direction in the first.
