It wasn’t just the defense that failed them though, as their running game struggled all season. First round pick Melvin Gordon was less than impactful, which may be a product of their offensive line as well.

The Chargers could get a shot in the arm as receiver Keenan Allen will return after ending the season injured, and they own the third overall pick to help get some talented youth on their team as well.

They don’t have much time left to get Rivers to the big game, and the team around him isn’t inspiring much confidence.
