Per ESPN’s Tania Ganguli, Strong was riding with Green Bay Packers cornerback Damarious Randall and another companion. Randall was pulled over in his black Maserati due to not having a visible license plate.
When officers questioned the trio about the smell of marijuana, Strong owned up to the issue and produced a cigar box with three joints inside. Strong was arrested, while the other two men were allowed to leave the scene.
The Texans general manager Rick Smith acknowledged the situation, but was not ready to discuss the incident in detail.
"“We are disappointed in the choices Jaelen made to put himself in this situation,” Smith said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time.”"
As of now Strong has not been charged, but police let him know that prosecutors may still decide to do so, and he will receive a summons if they do decide to charge him. The former Arizona State Sun Devil recorded 14 receptions for 161 yards and three touchdowns during his rookie season with the Texans.
