13 observations from day one of #NFLCombine – HoustonTexans.com

"When people ask me about the NFL Scouting Combine, they’re often referring to the activity that occurs on the Lucas Oil Stadium turf. In fact, it’s really the only thing that most people mention to me, which I’m totally cool with because that’s why I want to be there, in all honesty. But, in now my second year coming to Indianapolis, I’ve realized that the on field work that we see on NFL Network is just one of many pieces that draws so many of us to the great Midwest. The people we all see on TV every day. The people that write the articles that we peruse every day. The people that we listen to daily."

Houston Texans should focus on quarterback, running back at NFL combine – by Tania Ganguli, ESPN

"Positions of need: Offense, offense, offense. The Texans have some defensive needs, but offense is where they struggled to overcome their deficiencies the most. They need to resolve their quarterback position, where they started four different players in 2015. The 2016 starter will most likely be either Tom Savage or a rookie draft pick. Whoever it is, he’ll need a lot more help than last season’s quartet had. The Texans need to find a running back to replace Arian Foster, whether they release him to save more than $6 million in cap space or convince him to take a pay cut and stay. They also need to look to the future on their offensive line, where they’ll likely need a new left tackle in a few years. The Texans could look to the second, third or even fourth round to find a left tackle to develop for the future."
