With the team’s second pick in the fifth round (27th of the round) they look for more potential here as they grab DeAndre Houston-Carson, a safety from the Virginia based school William & Mary.

The Tribe may be a small school program, but they have turned out some decent pros including the Texans current third-down running back Jonathan Grimes.

Houston-Carson is a hard tackler with a nose for the football. The team captain finished his senior season by recording 109 tackles and intercepting four passes. It was a great end to a good career for the safety.

At 6-foot tall and 197 pounds, Houston-Carson could stand to pack on a few pounds to take the toll of an NFL safety, but that most likely would happen simply by working with a professional strength and conditioning staff.

With 2014 seventh-round selection Andre Hal solidifying the free safety job after an impressive 2015 season, the Texans now hope to hit gold on another late round find here.
. S. William & Mary Tribe. DEANDRE HOUSTON-CARSON. #5
