Waiting until the 20th pick in the fifth round for a nose tackle may not be ideal as the team only had one on the roster all season in Vince Wilfork, but the Texans don’t seem to think too highly of the spot anyway as they were evidently happy with Wilfork’s awful year as the starter.

Here they get Clemson nose tackle D.J. Reader who had a good showing at the senior bowl despite spending much of his college career as a backup. That isn’t really a knock as the Tigers have turned out pros along the defensive line at a high rate over the past couple of seasons.

What makes Reader a good choice for Houston is his size to plug the middle of the line up. At 6-foot-3 and 335 pounds, he is a monster and can fill in running lanes just with his size alone.

Another reason to like him is his surprising mobility for a guy his size. The athletic young man was a two-sport star for Clemson as he was a first baseman for the <a href=. NT. Clemson Tigers. D.J. READER. #5
