NFL Free Agency: 10 players the Houston Texans should target
By Randy Gurzi

7. Doug Martin, RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin exploded as a rookie while rushing for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Boise State Bronco was selected 31st overall in 2012 and looked poised to be on of the best running backs in the league.
Then came 2013 when Martin struggled through injuries and inconsistencies. After averaging 4.6 yards per rush as a rookie, Martin fell to just 3.6 yards per attempt the following year. He played in just six games and managed a mere 456 yards and one touchdown. 2014 wasn’t any better as Martin made it to 11 games and had 494 yards (with an average of of 3.7 yards per carry) with only two touchdowns.
With expectations disappearing Martin reemerged last season for the surprisingly competitive Bucs. The fourth-year runner managed to gain 1,402 yards with six touchdowns. He also had his most effective season of his short career, gaining 4.9 yards each rush.
Now set to become a free agent, the Buccaneers most likely will want to keep Martin in town. If for any reason he hits the open market, the “Dougernaut would be a great fit should the team decide it’s time to move on from their franchise leading rusher, Arian Foster.
