North Carolina State has produced some good quarterbacks in recent years. Starting with Philip Rivers in 2004, we’ve also seen Russell Wilson, Mike Glennon and now Brissett are former Wolfpack quarterbacks who have made it into the NFL. He’d be a middle round pick, think fourth round perhaps. Of those three, only Rivers was a first round pick. So you don’t have to take a quarterback early to get a good one.

The Florida transfer threw 43 touchdowns to 11 interceptions while running for another nine touchdowns during his two years in Raleigh. He also has good size at 6-4 and 235 pounds. He has prototypical size and a good arm, I think he could be a real sleeper in this year’s draft. This video shows what he does the best–runs around and creates and is very hard to tackle, much like Ben Roethlisberger. I’m not saying he’s going to be as good as Big Ben, but he can make some of the same type of plays. If the Texans decide to pass on Hackenberg and this guy is available in the fourth round then there is no question they should take him. Third round may be a bit high, but I’m not saying he couldn’t go on the second day.
