Tony Jefferson, Arizona Cardinals 23 years old

After his collegiate career at Oklahoma came to an end Tony Jefferson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Arizona Cardinals. He was impressive in the preseason and won a spot on the 53-man roster.

Jefferson was able to turn that into becoming a spot starter for one of the best defenses in the NFL as he has 17 starts in three seasons while playing all 48 games since joining the Cards.

The three-year vet is set to turn 24 in January and has youth as well as versatility on his side. Jefferson has lined up at both free and strong safety and had his best season as a pro in 2015. In his third pro season, Jefferson recorded 78 tackles, two sacks and his first two career interceptions, including one he returned for a 26 yard touchdown.

If Houston did make a play for the restricted free agent it may cost them a draft pick, so they need to be sure he is a solid option to line up next to Hal. If they do feel this way, they would have a very talented, very young core of safeties.
