Houston Texans: Six free agent options at linebacker
By Randy Gurzi

Inside linebacker Shea McClellin, Chicago Bears, 26 years old
Shea McClellin was a standout defensive lineman during his collegiate career at Boise State and was able to become a first round pick of the Chicago Bears based on that success. Since being picked by the Bears he has spent time at defensive end as well as both outside and inside linebacker.
After never posting more than 36 tackles in his first three NFL seasons, Chicago declined to pick up the fifth-year option on his contract, meaning the 19th pick in the 2012 draft is set to be a free agent.
McClellin posted his best professional season after the Bears decided he wasn’t worth a fifth season, recording 81 tackles as well as his first career forced fumble.
While he may never live up to the high expectations that come with being picked in the top 20, the defensive player is still talented and could be a quality depth piece.
