Houston Texans: Six free agent options at linebacker
By Randy Gurzi

Outside linebacker Bruce Irvin, Seattle Seahawks, 28 years old
Another former first round pick, Bruce Irvin has the perfect size to be a 3-4 pass rushing linebacker. He stands 6’3″ and weighs 260 pounds and has been rather effective in pressuring the quarterbacks in Seattle but could benefit from being unleashed even more by Crennel and the Texans.
In four seasons in Seattle Irvin has 37 starts and has recorded 131 tackles and 22 sacks, decent numbers, but not as great as his 15th overall selection would imply.
While Irvin could possibly benefit statistically from heading to a new team, that may never come to fruition as reports indicate he would be willing to take a hometown discount to stay in Seattle.
Of course things always change when agents get involved and the negotiating begins. If he does happen to hit the open market, it would surely be worth it for Houston to give him a call.
