Wow Factor Player of the Year, DeAndre Hopkins, Wide Receiver

Stats: 111 receptions, 1,521 yards, 11 touchdowns

If anyone was mad about receiver Andre Johnson being released this offseason, they are surely over it now. The reason for that change of heart is the amazing play this season by DeAndre Hopkins who threw himself into the top receiver in the league discussion with his amazing performance in 2015.

MUST READ: DeAndre Hopkins will go down as best Texans receiver ever

Hopkins finished the year with the third most receptions and receiving yards in team history, while also setting a new franchise record in touchdown receptions. He is also the first ever Texan player to hit double digits in touchdown catches.

And as many can probably guess, with four different guys starting under center in 2015, Hopkins made a lot of his plays on highlight reel grabs. He made a “head’s up play” against the Jaguars early in the season when he caught the ball using his helmet to secure it.

But the one that will go down as his signature play from 2015 came against the Bengals on Monday night football. Hopkins made a one-handed grab from backup T.J. Yates, which led Houston to a win against a team that was unbeaten at that time.

So yeah, a “Wow Factor” award ay not actually exist, but for Hopkins…it should.
