The Houston Texans won the AFC South in 2015 thanks in large part to these team members who went above and beyond what was expected of them

The Houston Texans completed an amazing turnaround after a putrid start to their season in 2015. After seven games, the team was sitting at 2-5 and looking to be one of the bottom feeders in the NFL.

Their coach Bill O’Brien didn’t agree, stating the team wasn’t good at that point while reminding people that there was still a lot of football to be played. He believed the team would turn it around, and they did.

Ten weeks after he claimed his team could improve, the Texans are AFC South champions after running through the AFC South the final three weeks by a combined score 80-22. They finished 9-7 for the second straight year under coach Bill, and this time it was enough to reach the post season.

The final half of the season saw three different starting quarterbacks, two of which weren’t even on the roster when O’Brien discussed improving. It also saw one young player in outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney begin to finally break out, while seeing his linebacking mate, Whitney Mercilus continue his magical season.

Those two weren’t alone in helping the Texans win their division and return to the playoffs, so let’s take some time to reflect on the guys who deserve to be awarded for their work during the 2015 NFL season.
