AFC South poll: Who wins the division?
By Randy Gurzi
The Houston Texans looked like an absolute mess just a couple of weeks ago, but what a difference one week can make. Thanks to the win over the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts third straight loss, the Texans find themselves tied for first place in the AFC South.

Of course, the Colts own the tie breaker currently as they are perfect in the South, including the head-to-head victory over Houston earlier this season. That could change though come December 20th when these teams face off in Indy, where the Texans have never won.
Could this be the year they finally get a road win against the hated Colts? If so, it could go a long way towards vaulting the Texans to the top of the division.
It sounds crazy that playoff talk is still a viable thing for this team that sits at 3-5, but thanks to the mediocre division, that is exactly where we are. The one advantage Houston may have is they have actually won outside the division by beating Tampa Bay. Indy has beaten only the Texans, Jaguars and Titans. All three by one score.
So who ends up winning in this crazy division? Believe it or not, it could be Houston. After taking on Cincinnati on the road following their bye, they face the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, go to the Buffalo Bills and face the Patriots at home.
If they can somehow win two or three of those games, they are set up nicely for a late season run as they wind the year down with a trip to Indy, a road game at Tennessee and finally a home date with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Win those games and they most likely are in.
Yes, believe it or not, the Houston Texans could be a playoff team despite a horrific start. The question is, do you think they will do it? Will it be either of the 3-5 teams in Houston or Indy? Maybe the 2-5 Jaguars turn their second half around? Or perhaps the Titans firing their coach inspires a late season push from their 1-6 beginning?
