Game: Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers

Prediction: After Hoyer stumbled out of the gate in week 1, he showed us everything we already knew about him. Inconsistent, inaccurate, and bad decision making. He essentially gifted the Chiefs 14 points when they had a TOTAL combined 20 yards to go for those two touchdowns following Hoyer’s 2 turnovers.

Luckily, Mallett came in relief of Hoyer, but it was too little too late. Hoyer mustered up 9 measly points in 54 minutes of game action. Mallett put up 11 points in only 5 minutes.

The difference is clear.

With Mallett starting Sunday against Carolina I see this game going the total opposite of the home opener. Not only is he quicker with his decisions, he pushes the ball downfield consistently. Cam Newton struggled mightily with his lack of offensive firepower against an average at best Jacksonville defense. I can only imagine what kind of havoc the Texans defense will impose on Carolina come Sunday.

Final score: Houston Texans 31, Carolina Panthers 10
