Game: Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers
After Brian Hoyer spent 54 minutes failing the team miserably against the Chiefs, he was benched in favor of Ryan Mallett. Head coach Bill O’Brien initially said he wouldn’t name the starter, but that changed as he did confirm it will Mallett’s turn at the helm.
Mallett will be facing a stingy defense, but with his arm strength and confidence, he will find enough holes in that defense to move the ball when needed. He showed quick decisions and displayed his strong arm in his six minutes of play last week. The offense will be much more potent with a real NFL quarterback at the helm.
The Panthers on the other hand feature injury prone running back Jonathan Stewart and number one receiver Ted Ginn, Jr. Needless to say quarterback Cam Newton has to do a lot on his own, and they struggled to make much happen against the Jaguars defense. The Texans defense is much better and will slow Carolina down as they did KC in the second half.
Final score: Houston Texans 27, Carolina Panthers 13
