Wide Receivers:
Antonio Brown ($8800) – With Julio Jones getting priced very similar to AB, I think Antonio’s ownership will be lower than usual. With Le’Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant out, Antonio gets another game with a ton of targets. This week will be a lot easier on him because the 49ers secondary is shaky at best. Antonio Brown’s weekly floor, weekly upside, and ownership this week make him my favorite “elite” wide receiver play of the week.
Jordan Matthews ($7100) – Without a doubt, Jordan Matthews is a WR1 in all formats. He ran all his routes out of the slot, which boosts his competition percentage and receptions. This week, he faces a weak slot corner in Tyler Patmon who pretty much has no chance against Matthews’ size and speed combination. Targets will be headed his way and this game has the makings to be the highest week 2 point total. He is practically a must own in every single lineup.
Steve Smith Sr. ($6000) – The Ravens are stuck without playmakers on the outside. Steve Smith was swallowed up against a very tough matchup in Denver, but he will be relied upon heavily this week in Oakland. Joe Flacco already expressed throwing the ball more often this week and pushing the ball downfield giving Steve Smith a higher ceiling than usual.
Eric Decker ($5100) – Brandon Marshall will be matched up with Vontae Davis all game long. That will severely limit B Marsh but is great news for Decker owners. Ryan Fitzpatrick is capable of putting up good numbers for his receivers. The Jets should be chasing points against Andrew Luck and Eric Decker has some garbage time appeal as this week’s number one target.
Pierre Garçon ($5000) – I was already drooling at the mouth with Desean Jackson ruled out, but now Jordan Reed looks to be highly questionable as well. Who does Kirk Cousins plan on throwing the ball to? Do not be shocked to see Garçon end up with 7+ receptions and 80+ yards in a tough matchup based on volume alone. He is very affordable too.
Davante Adams ($4900) – Davante Adams will either go for less than 5 or over 15 this week. Richard Sherman shut down Adams last year in the playoffs, but Sherman is expected to shadow Randall Cobb this week. If Sherman is on Cobb, Adams will be relied upon heavily. Adams already led the Packers in targets last week, even though James Jones swooped in and stole the show. A lot of people have already hopped off of the Davante Adams train. Do not be one of them.
Donte Moncrief ($4600) – Donte Moncrief is a popular name this week. T.Y. Hilton is a game time decision, but even if he plays he will be on vacation at Revis Island. Moncrief will be the number one target if Hilton sits, assuming that Andre Johnson would be matched with Revis. $4600 for Andrew Luck’s number one target is a steal.
