College: Michigan
Drafted: 7th Round, 251st overall
Brown started his collegiate journey at the Big Ten powerhouse Michigan. He was a 4 star recruit out of high school, but was primarily used as a backup throughout his first 2 seasons. He recorded his first interception in his sophomore season in a home win against rival Notre Dame.
Brown got more playing time as a junior. That season, he would record 64 tackles, 2 interceptions, and a forced fumble. As a senior, he was named as a team captain, and started all 13 games. Brown would finish his final season with the Wolverines with 79 tackles and an interception.
The 2010 NFL Draft Class was loaded with talent at the defensive back position, headlined by guys such as Joe Haden, Eric Berry, Earl Thomas, and our very own Kareem Jackson. Brown was buried underneath these guys, and wasn’t a lock to be drafted. But the Oakland Raiders would pull the trigger with the 5th-to-last selection in the 2010 Draft.
