Offensive Rising Star – DeAndre Hopkins

Everyone realizes how important “Nuk” Hopkins will be this year after Andre Johnson was released. Clearly he is the centerpiece of the passing attack. 150 pass attempts went to Andre Johnson last year and it is fair to project DeAndre to getting more than that this year. He is a legit candidate for 90+ receptions.

What makes DeAndre Hopkins so special is what he is has already done in his first two seasons. He  simply outplayed All-Pro Andre Johnson last year; despite getting almost 20% less targets, DeAndre Hopkins had 274 more yards and twice as many touchdowns than Andre did. Thanks to Nuk’s best hands in the NFL award from Pro Football Focus, he was able to make the most of his limited targets.

He is by far the best wide receiver in his draft class and is younger than all of them. At only 23 years old, DeAndre Hopkins will be a superstar for the Houston Texans in 2015. He will emerge as a top 10 talent at the position and overcome below average quarterback play from Brian Hoyer or Ryan Mallett. Be ready for a 85-1,300-7 season in his third NFL season.
