Rushing:

  • Bill O’Brien was forced to give Arian Foster and Alfred Blue tons of carries last year. The Texans lead the NFL in carries last year. Arian Foster in particular was receiving 20 carries per game. The volume should be the same this season because the quarterback play is debatably worse and the receivers are also debatably worse. Arian Foster will be the man as long as he doesn’t break down.
  • Arian Foster is a yardage machine (4.8 yards per carry) and led the Texans to another top five finish.
  • Scoring touchdowns was another story. Arian Foster has only scored 9 touchdowns in nearly 400 carries. This obviously is not his fault. This is more of an indication of bad quarterback play in the Red Zone and the offense being one dimensional. The Texans will need to be creative in getting Arian Foster running lanes while in the Red Zone.
