Philip Rivers was creating tons of buzz this offseason because he was rumored not wanting to return to San Diego. More specifically, he did not want to live in Los Angeles if the Chargers move up the road to LA. I am not sure why he would not want to live in Los Angeles (the weather, the fan base, etc.) but something bothers him about it. Philip Rivers has publicly taken back his rumored stance and says he wants to remain with the team.

The Chargers added superstar in the making, Melvin Gordon to take over lead back carries. Melvin Gordon was a perfect fit as Ryan Matthews walked away, but may have also been an attempt to keep Philip Rivers long term. Aging quarterbacks need an established running game to relieve some of the stress and keep defenses from hitting him.

Philip Rivers could be bluffing right now and could see what other options are out there in the free agent market. He would be listening to multiple teams who will be offering him tons of money because free agents of Philip Rivers caliber just do not hit the market regularly. The Texans would be a legit contender with the Chargers if Rivers has any doubts.
