After breaking down how the defense is stacked up along the front of their line, as well as how they looked with their pass-rushing outside linebackers, we now shift our focus to the guys in the middle of the front seven. The inside linebackers are key to any 3-4 defense as they have to be able to do anything needed from stuffing the run, to rushing the passer and even being able to drop into pass coverage.

The Houston Texans have boasted some stellar play at times at the inside linebacker spot, but there was definitely a need for an upgrade this offseason. The team decided it was better served to look for that upgrade via the NFL Draft, rather than to try and bring in a veteran through free agency.
So now with OTA’s in the near future, we here at the Toro Times can begin to see how the Texans fare at the interior linebacker position heading into the 2015 season.
