Kevin Johnson – CB

Who is he? – Johnson has been described as a pure cover corner. He can play both on and off coverage, and his length will help him defend taller receivers. He is an aggressive corner who isn’t afraid to go up and snag the ball.

How does he fit? – Johnson was drafted to help the Texans pass defense improve, and is specifically viewed as the replacement to the aging Johnathan Joseph. He should help the Texans in big way over the course of his career, sliding into the second starting cornerback slot by his second year.

What will he do this season? – The Texans already have two starting CB’s in Joseph and Jackson, so Johnson won’t be lining up on the perimeter. However, look for the Wake Forest product to cover the slot and help in three-, four-, or five-wide sets.
