The NFL Draft is critical to a team’s success. This year, the Houston Texans made three outstanding picks in the first three rounds that will fill huge holes for the team and, hopefully, help this franchise’s future.

But Texans fans want to know what these players can do for us now. No one is interested in a player who never comes off the bench. Maybe one of these players will make it all the way to Canton one day in the Football Hall of Fame, but all we know is what they can contribute in their rookie seasons.
Careers can start fantastically and give us false hope. Steve Slaton broke out and had a huge rookie season, giving fans expectations of a long, successful career for the runner here in Houston. But he was benched in Year 2 in favor of Ryan Moats due to a fumbling issue.
Careers can also start poorly. If you would’ve told me after 2010 that Kareem Jackson would play, and be paid, like a number one cornerback, I would’ve laughed. But Jackson has progressed, and has become a player this organization is proud of.
With that in mind, we look to how each of the top three picks could impact the Houston Texans in 2015.
