Round 7: (C-) RB Kenny Hilliard

Houston seems to really like LSU running backs. (Last year they drafted RB Alfred Blue in the 6th round.) Kenny Hilliard is unlikely to make a powerful presence in the NFL, however this was also said about the current running back phenom, Arian Foster.

The major drawback to Kenny Hilliard is his lack of playing time in college. There’s really not much to tell how impactful of a player he can be in the NFL, since he never once reached 100 carries in a season.

The Texans have had a knack for finding under-appreciated backs and helping them find their way into the spotlight. I.e. Arian Foster, Justin Forsett, Alfred Blue, Ben Tate… Hopefully Kenny Hilliard can soak up the opportunity to play on an offense that is looking for the next playmaker in the backfield.

This is by far, one of the best drafts the Texans have had in recent memory and fans have more reasons than not to be excited about what the preseason and rest of the offseason holds in store to be revealed.

It looks as though the team has nowhere to go but up, undrafted free agents aside.
